SARKIS ASSADOURIAN
Head Coach
Sarkis Assadourian is a professional fencing coach with more than 45 years of experience in both Epee and Foil. Assadourian was the Iranian National Head Coach for over 14 years. He was a National Champion for 15 years and participated in the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games. He holds a Gold medal in Epee and a Bronze Medal in Foil from the 1974 Asian Games and has competed in and won numerous international tournaments.
Assadourian has completed coaching courses and training in Russia and with NOC Solidarity.
Assadourian coaches with both left and right hands. Most of his Students have been members of Epee and Foil National Teams.His students have won numerous medals in Asian Games and Cadet/Junior and Senior Asian Championships and World Cups.
Assadourian has also been an FIE Referee in Foil, Epee & Sabre since 1988 and has been a Member of FIE since 2004. He was the FIE Delegate for the 2008 Nanjing Junior Olympic Games and the 2016 Rio Summer Olympic Games.
Assadourian is the President of the “Armenian World Fencing Association” - holding the title since 2000. He holds a Master of Arts in Architecture and City Planning from Tehran University. He is fluent in English, Armenian, Farsi and Turkish and coaches in all 4 languages.
